An important example of early monolithic granite construction. This is one of the most beautiful early commercial imititating European Business Arcade.
In 1976 "The National Park Service United States Department of The Interior.
"The Arcade is the oldest original marketplace left standing in the United States today.

Moving a House in Providence

The 300-ton Peter Green House is set to be placed on its new foundation at Brown and
Angell Sts. on Providence's East Side. The building formerly known as the Lippit- Guild house, was rotated 90 degrees to face its neigbors when it was relocated to Brown St.
The renovations, being overseen by Brown University, will total $ 5 Million.
La casa Peter Green de 300 tons. que vemos en las fotos, esta siendo relocalizada y montada en una nueva fundacion, fue movida 90 grado de su posicion original.
Los trabajos en ella costaran unos US$5 millones a la Brown University.
